Muscat, 26 Jan 2026 (ONA) — Qais
Mohammed Al Yousef, Chairman of the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones
and Free Zones, met today at the Authority’s headquarters in Muscat Governorate
with Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Chairman and Group CEO of DP World.

The meeting reviewed the latest developments in the Al Rawdah
Special Economic Zone Project with DP World and the upcoming stages for
implementing this strategic project.

The meeting further touched on the executive steps for the first
phase project of developing and operating Al Rawdah Special Economic Zone, for
which the designated area for the developer company is 14 square kilometers,
expandable to reach 24 square kilometers in a second phase, according to the
development plan submitted by the developer company on 26 May 2025.

The two sides affirmed their
commitment to close coordination to ensure the project is completed on schedule
and according to the agreed-upon standards, while maintaining the momentum of
work throughout the subsequent development stages.

Al Rawdah Special Economic Zone is
an important tributary for enhancing economic activities with the United Arab
Emirates, benefiting from the main road network and its proximity to Sohar Port
and Jebel Ali Port in the Emirate of Dubai. The zone is located in Al Rawdah area
in the Wilayat of Mahdah in Al Buraimi Governorate. The site is approximately
85 kilometers from the Wilayat of Al Buraimi and 125 kilometers from the Wilayat
of Sohar, enhancing its role as a gateway for trade and industrial cooperation
between the Sultanate of Oman and the United Arab Emirates.

The project is expected to
attract high-value investments in the logistics, light manufacturing, and
industrial services sectors, while simultaneously supporting job creation and
knowledge transfer.
