TSC Member Dr. Nuwara Affirms Government Support for Medical Corps Hospital

Omdurman, Jan. 27, 2026 (SUNA) – Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), Dr. Nuwara Abu Mohamed Tahir, praised the Medical Corps Hospital for its vital role in providing treatment and medical services to Sudanese citizens across all segments of society, particularly during the Battle of Dignity, which posed a major test of struggle and patriotism.During her visit to the Medical Corps Hospital in Omdurman, Dr. Nuwara met with the Director of the General Medical Services Directorate, Lt. Gen. Dr. Zakaria Ibrahim Mohamed Ahmed, and affirmed the government’s readiness to fully support the hospital, enabling it to perform its duties effectively.She pledged to coordinate with all relevant local and international authorities to meet the hospital’s needs, address shortages, and overcome operational challenges during the current phase.Lt. Gen. Dr. Zakaria welcomed the TSC member’s visit, describing it as a moral boost for the Medical Corps Hospital in its mission to provide services to citizens. He emphasized that the hospital will spare no effort in delivering medical aid to the Sudanese people, particularly those who supported the Armed Forces during the Battle of Dignity against the rebel Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia.Dr. Nuwara also visited the wounded at Alyaa Specialist Hospital and the orthopaedics and injuries divisions at the Medical Corps Hospital, congratulating them on the victory and wishing them a speedy recovery, the safe return of missing personnel, and the release of captives.AS/BH
