Amman, May 18 (Petra) — Strong winds and widespread dusty conditions
are dominating weather patterns on Monday, as temperatures remain
above seasonal averages before easing gradually later this week,
according to the Jordan Meteorological Department.

Warm and dusty conditions are prevailing across most regions, while
hot weather continues in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba.
Medium- and high-level clouds are appearing intermittently,
accompanied by active northwesterly winds and powerful gusts that may
exceed 60 kilometers per hour in some areas.

The Meteorological Department warned that blowing dust is reducing
horizontal visibility across several regions, with visibility
potentially dropping sharply on desert roads. It also cautioned
against strong wind gusts and advised people suffering from
respiratory conditions to take necessary precautions.

A slight decline in temperatures is expected on Tuesday, although
dusty conditions are forecast to persist across much of the country.
Weather will turn moderate in most regions, while relatively hot
conditions continue in low-lying areas. Northwesterly winds are
expected to remain moderate to active, with occasional strong gusts.

Conditions are forecast to stabilize somewhat on Wednesday, with
moderate weather prevailing across most regions and relatively hot
conditions continuing in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba.
Medium- and high-level clouds will persist, while westerly winds
remain moderate and occasionally active, raising dust particularly in
Badia areas.

A more noticeable drop in temperatures is expected on Thursday,
bringing pleasant conditions to most regions and warmer weather in
low-lying areas. Low clouds are forecast, while westerly winds remain
moderate and may become active at times, continuing to stir dust in
exposed desert regions.

Temperature ranges on Monday reflect the prevailing warm pattern,
with East Amman forecast between 32 C and 18 C, and West Amman
between 30 C and 16 C. Northern highlands will record 28 C to 14 C,
while the Sharah highlands range between 29 C and 15 C.

In the Badia, temperatures are expected between 36 C and 20 C, and in
the plains between 33 C and 18 C. The northern Jordan Valley is
forecast at 37 C to 24 C, rising to 39 C to 26 C in the southern
valley. The Dead Sea will record 38 C to 25 C, while Aqaba reaches 39
C to 27 C.
