Muscat, 8 Oct 2026 (ONA) — Dr. Nasser Rashid Al Maawali,
Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy, received a British parliamentary
delegation led by Emily Thornberry, Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee of
the British House of Commons, as part of its visit to the Sultanate of Oman.
The meeting addressed the bilateral relations between the
Sultanate of Oman and the United Kingdom, and the prospects for enhancing
economic cooperation and exchanging expertise in areas of mutual interest, in a
manner that supports the mutual interests of the two friendly countries.
The meeting reviewed the development approaches of the Sultanate
of Oman within the framework of “Oman Vision 2040”, the priorities of
economic diversification, opportunities for expanding partnerships in promising
sectors, and the role of institutional communication in enhancing bilateral
cooperation.
