Muscat, June 15 (QNA) – Oman’s Cabinet welcomed the understanding reached between the United States and Iran.
During its meeting, chaired by Sultan Haitham bin Tariq of Oman, the Cabinet expressed appreciation for regional and international efforts, particularly the constructive role played by the Gulf Cooperation Council countries and Pakistan in supporting regional security and stability.
During the meeting, the Sultan of Oman affirmed his country’s balanced and neutral role, its support for the principles of justice and law, and its commitment to the safety and security of maritime navigation and freedom of passage in its territorial waters in the Strait of Hormuz, in accordance with international law.
He also stressed the importance of continuing efforts and integrating national and regional action, including joint Gulf action among the GCC states, to mitigate the negative impacts of events unfolding in the region and ensure a high level of preparedness for response and coordination. (QNA)
