Agriculture Ministry, ASEZA Sign Aqaba Nursery Development Agreement

Amman, June 29 (Petra) – The Ministry of Agriculture and the Aqaba
Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) signed a land-use agreement
to develop the Aqaba Agriculture Directorate’s nursery, enhance plant
production and increase its production capacity.

Under the agreement, a comprehensive development plan will be
implemented to modernize the nursery’s facilities and strengthen its
production program. The project will increase the supply of
high-quality forest seedlings to farmers and agricultural projects
across Aqaba Governorate.

Minister of Agriculture Saeb Khraisat, in the presence of ASEZA
Chairman Shadi Majali, said the agreement supports the ministry’s
efforts to optimize agricultural infrastructure, improve agricultural
services and promote sustainable development.

The ministry said the project will also support afforestation, expand
green areas and advance agricultural and economic development, in
line with its food security and environmental sustainability
objectives.
