Al-Damazin, June 29, 2026 (SUNA) — The Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF), backed by supporting forces, successfully liberated the Maqja and Sarkam areas on Monday following intense battles against the remnants of the rebel Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia. The operation was carried out by the 4th Infantry Division and supporting units, culminating in the full recapture of the two areas and the infliction of heavy losses on the militia in both personnel and military equipment. The advance forms part of the Armed Forces’ continuing victories along the Blue Nile front.Meanwhile, clearing operations and the pursuit of remaining hostile elements are ongoing to secure the newly liberated areas, reinforce field deployments, restore stability, establish security, and prevent any attempts by fleeing militia elements to infiltrate or regroup.BH/BH
