New York, June 29 (Petra) – The UN Security Council will hold its
monthly open briefing on Monday on the situation in the Middle East,
including the Palestinian issue, followed by closed consultations.
Ramiz Alekbarov, the UN Deputy Special Coordinator for the Middle
East Peace Process, will brief the council on the situation.
The Secretary-General’s report on the implementation of Security
Council Resolution 2334 will be discussed, according to the Security
Council presidency for the current month.
The resolution demands Israel immediately and completely cease all
settlement activities in the occupied Palestinian territories,
including East Jerusalem.
