Amman, June 30 (Petra) — An initiative aimed at enhancing inclusive
employment opportunities within the industrial sector concluded on
Tuesday under the patronage of Minister of Environment Ayman
Suleiman.

The initiative was implemented through two joint programs: the Green
Activities in Industrial Enterprises (GAIN) project and the Women’s
Economic and Political Participation in North Africa and the Middle
East (WoMENA) project. The closing ceremony was attended by officials
from various government bodies, industrial sector leaders, and
international development partners.

Minister Suleiman highlighted the vital role of sustained
public-private partnerships and international cooperation in driving
Jordan’s transition toward a green economy. He noted that boosting
the competitiveness of the industrial sector while empowering women
directly aligns with the targets outlined in the kingdom’s Economic
Modernization Vision and the Public Sector Modernization Roadmap.

The Acting Secretary-General of the Ministry of Environment, Maha
Al-Maaytah, stated that green transformation projects are essential
to strengthening the sustainability and operational efficiency of
industrial facilities. She explained that integrating green economy
principles into industrial policies is no longer just a developmental
alternative but a structural necessity to help the national economy
adapt to global regulatory changes, enhance environmental compliance,
and create higher-quality, inclusive workspaces.

The event concluded with the Ministry of Environment honoring
participating industrial firms and service providers for their
commitment to adopting sustainable green practices and expanding
inclusive employment.

The ministry expressed its gratitude to the German Government, the
German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), and all local and
international partners for their continued backing of Jordan’s
sustainable development objectives.
