Amman, July 1 (Petra) — Temperatures are expected to remain close to
seasonal averages through Saturday, with generally mild conditions
prevailing across most regions despite continued heat in desert and
low-lying areas, according to the Jordan Meteorological Department.

The department said Wednesday’s weather will be moderate across much
of the country, while hot conditions are forecast in the Badia, the
Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba. Moderate northwesterly winds
are expected to become active at times, particularly in desert areas.

A slight decline in temperatures is forecast on Thursday, bringing
seasonally mild conditions to most regions. The Badia is expected to
remain relatively hot, while hot weather will persist across the
Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba. Moderate northwesterly winds
are forecast to continue, occasionally strengthening during the day.

Little change is expected on Friday, with mild temperatures
continuing across most areas. Low clouds are forecast to develop over
northern parts of the country, while relatively hot conditions will
persist in the Badia and hot weather will continue in the Jordan
Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba.

Temperatures are expected to edge slightly higher on Saturday,
although the increase is not expected to significantly alter the
prevailing weather pattern.

Mild conditions will continue across most regions, while relatively
hot weather will prevail in the Badia and hot conditions will persist
in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba. Low clouds are also
expected over northern and central areas.

Wednesday’s temperatures are forecast to reach 33 degrees Celsius in
East Amman and 31 degrees in West Amman. Highs are expected to reach
28 C in the northern highlands and 30 C in the Sharah highlands,
while the plains are forecast to record 33 C.

The warmest conditions are expected in the country’s desert and
low-elevation regions, with temperatures forecast to reach 38 C in
the Badia, 40 C in both the northern Jordan Valley and at the Dead
Sea, and 41 C in the southern Jordan Valley and Aqaba.
