Cairo, July 01 (QNA) – Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and his Italian counterpart Antonio Tajani, in a phone call on Wednesday, underscored the importance of building on the momentum created by the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran, to pave the way for more sustainable arrangements that consolidate de-escalation, enhance security and stability in the region, and ensure freedom of navigation in accordance with international law.
In a statement, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry said the two ministers exchanged views on the latest developments in US-Iran negotiations and regional situations.
The ministers also discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations.
Abdelatty reiterated Egypt’s commitment to elevating ties with Italy to broader horizons in various fields, particularly economic, investment, and trade, in a way that boosts commercial exchange and achieves mutual interests. (QNA)
