Amman, July 2 (Petra) — FIFA President Gianni Infantino has
extended a message of thanks and appreciation to the Jordanian
national football team, nicknamed “Nashama,” following the conclusion
of their historic debut appearance at the 2026 World Cup.

Infantino posted a photo on his official Instagram account showing
the national team players celebrating a goal, accompanied by the
caption “Thank you” in both Arabic and English, praising the team’s
performances throughout the tournament.

The FIFA president emphasized that the national team scoring its
first-ever goal in World Cup history was a “beautiful moment for the
entire team and the nation.” He expressed his admiration for Jordan’s
goal against current world champions Argentina during their final
group stage match.

Infantino added that the national team’s journey in the tournament
have “inspired millions back home,” encouraging the team to maintain
their development by saying, “Continue your upward trajectory, and
see you soon.”

The message from the head of world football’s governing body
