Dallas, July 03 (QNA) – Egypt have reached the last 16 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup after defeating Australia 4-2 on penalties following a 1-1 draw after extra time in Dallas.
The African side took the lead in the 13th minute through Emam Ashour, who headed home from a Karim Hafez cross.
Australia leveled in the 55th minute when an own goal by Mohamed Hany brought the match back on level terms.
