Two injured in old hand grenade blast on Amman bypass road, police say

Amman, July 14 (Petra) — Two people were moderately injured on
Tuesday when an old hand grenade exploded while they were collecting
scrap metal on the 100-Meter Road bypass in Amman, a police
spokesperson said.

The spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate stated that the
two individuals discovered the old munition before it detonated.

Both victims were evacuated to a nearby hospital for treatment and
are reported to be in moderate condition.

Specialized authorities have launched an investigation into the
incident to secure the area and determine the origin of the device.
