Amman, July 15 (Petra) — An official military source at the General
Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces–Arab Army said that national
air defense systems successfully intercepted and shot down three
ballistic missiles that breached Jordanian airspace from Iranian
territory early Wednesday morning.

The source stressed that Jordanian airspace is an integral part of
the Kingdom’s sovereignty, adding that the interception operation was
executed in accordance with established operational and defensive
measures to protect the Kingdom’s sovereignty, security, and
citizens. The incident caused no casualties or material damage.

The source added that Royal Engineering Corps teams handled the
fallen debris across several locations in accordance with approved
technical and security protocols, taking all necessary precautions to
secure the sites and ensure public safety.

The military source emphasized that the Jordanian Armed Forces–Arab
Army reject any violation of the Kingdom’s sovereignty or any use of
its airspace in a manner that threatens its security and stability.
The source added that the Armed Forces continue to closely monitor
Jordanian airspace and track developments while maintaining the
highest level of operational readiness.

The source stressed that the Armed Forces will respond to any breach
of Jordanian airspace or threat to the Kingdom in accordance with the
established rules of engagement and will take all necessary measures
to safeguard Jordan’s sovereignty and preserve its national security
without hesitation.

Furthermore, citizens were urged to rely strictly on official sources
for information and to avoid circulating unverified rumors.
