Amman, July 16 (Petra) — At least 11 people were killed and 19
others injured Thursday after a fire broke out at an orphanage on the
outskirts of Algeria’s capital, according to the Algerian General
Directorate of Civil Protection.
In a statement carried by the Algerian News Agency, the authority
said emergency crews are still working to extinguish the blaze,
located in the Mohammadia district. It added that first responders
have treated and evacuated 19 injured individuals from the scene.
