Jordan Participates in 29th Arab Industrial Development Organization General Assembly in Libya

Amman, July 16 (Petra)– Secretary General of the Ministry of
Industry, Trade and Supply, Dana Al-Zoubi, headed the Jordanian
delegation to the 29th General Assembly of the Arab Industrial
Development, Standardization and Mining Organization (AIDSMO), held
in the Libyan capital, Tripoli, from July 14 to 16, 2026.

The assembly was held under the patronage and in the presence of
Libyan Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh and brought together Arab
ministers and heads of delegations to discuss the organization’s work
program and budget for 2027–2028.

Participants reviewed 19 projects aimed at strengthening Arab
industrial integration, promoting sustainable industrial development,
expanding the use of artificial intelligence in the industrial and
mining sectors, and officially launching the Arab Industrial
Indicators Platform.

Al-Zoubi stressed the importance of enhancing Arab industrial
cooperation and developing mechanisms for greater regional
integration to improve the competitiveness of the industrial sector,
encourage investment, and facilitate the exchange of expertise and
best practices among Arab countries.

She also underscored the need to keep pace with technological
advancements and digital transformation by leveraging artificial
intelligence applications to modernize the industrial and mining
sectors, support sustainable industrial development, and enhance the
global competitiveness of Arab industries.

During the meetings, Youssef Al-Maliki was elected Director General
of the organization, succeeding Adel Saqr.

Al-Zoubi has served as a member of the organization’s Executive
Council since 2024. The council oversees the organization’s programs
and policies, promotes industrial coordination and cooperation among
Arab states, and prepares the organization’s budget and final
accounts for approval by the General Assembly.
