Jordan Takes Part in Preparatory Meetings for Arab Media Ministers Council

Cairo, July 16 (Petra)– Jordan participated in a series of
specialized media meetings held at the headquarters of the Arab
League in Cairo, organized by the Technical Secretariat of the
Council of Arab Information Ministers over three days in preparation
for the council’s upcoming session, scheduled to take place in
Tripoli, Libya.

Jordan was represented by Alaa Al-Zyoud, Media Adviser at the
Permanent Mission of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to the Arab
League.

The meetings, which began on July 14, included the sixth meeting of
the Expert Team responsible for reviewing and updating the Arab Media
Action Plan Abroad, a working group meeting on updating the Executive
Program of the Arab Media Map for Sustainable Development 2030, and
discussions on a proposal submitted by the People’s Republic of China
to establish a China-Arab Audiovisual Innovation Exchange Center.

During the meetings, part of which he chaired, Al-Zyoud presented the
views of Jordanian media institutions, coordinated through the
Ministry of Government Communication, on the agenda items under
discussion.

He reaffirmed Jordan’s strong commitment to supporting joint Arab
efforts aimed at strengthening media cooperation across the region.

He also stressed the importance of backing joint media initiatives
and adopting programs that enhance the performance of Arab media
while keeping pace with the rapid developments in communication and
media technologies, including content production and digital
innovation.

He said such efforts would strengthen the capabilities and influence
of Arab media, promote Arab media and cultural identity, raise public
awareness to counter misinformation and disinformation, and support
Arab causes.
