Amman, July 19 (Petra) – Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of
Foreign and Expatriates Affairs Ayman Safadi and his Turkish
counterpart Hakan Fidan held a phone call on Sunday to discuss the
dangerous regional escalation and press for a swift return to
diplomacy.

The ministers urged for halting escalations, implementing the US-Iran
ceasefire agreement, and resuming negotiations to achieve a
comprehensive resolution to regional tensions.

Turning to the Palestinian territories, Safadi and Fidan called for
the full execution of US President Donald Trump’s Gaza plan to
restore stability. They demanded that Israel immediately lift all
restrictions on humanitarian aid entering the blockaded strip.

They rejected all illegal Israeli actions that entrench the
occupation in the West Bank and undermine the two-state solution,
which they said is “the only path to a just peace.” They urged the
international community to take decisive action to halt Israel’s
international law violations.

The ministers warned against ongoing Israeli attempts to alter the
historic and legal status quo of Jerusalem’s Islamic and Christian
holy sites. They stressed that the Aqsa Mosque remains an exclusive
place of worship for Muslims, warning that continued Israeli
provocations threaten to ignite a broader conflict across the
occupied West Bank.
