Amman, July 19 (Petra) – The Jordan Armed Forces – Arab Army launched
on Sunday the joint military exercise “Zulfiqar” at one of its
training fields, with the participation of personnel from the King
Abdullah II Royal Special Forces Command and special forces from
Turkey, Azerbaijan and Pakistan.

The two-week exercise is being held as part of joint military
cooperation and training programs aimed at enhancing operational
readiness, developing combat capabilities and strengthening
coordination among participating forces.

The exercise seeks to standardize operational procedures and improve
the efficiency of joint planning and field execution in special
operations through the exchange of expertise, development of command
and control procedures, and enhancement of coordination among
participating units.

The drills include a range of activities and tactical scenarios
simulating various operational conditions, including joint planning
and execution of special operations, urban assault operations,
hostage rescue missions, counterterrorism operations and tactical
live-fire exercises using various types of light and medium weapons.

The exercise also features the use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs)
and modern military systems in line with the latest techniques and
tactics adopted in special operations.

The first-of-its-kind exercise in Jordan is part of the Jordan Armed
Forces’ training plan to maintain the highest levels of readiness and
combat preparedness, develop operational capabilities, and enhance
military cooperation with sisterly and friendly forces. It also aims
to raise combat efficiency and promote the exchange of expertise in
the field of special operations.
