Jordan, Saudi Arabia call for action to defuse regional crisis

Amman, July 19 (Petra) – Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and his Saudi
counterpart, Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, held a phone call on
Sunday to discuss regional escalations and coordinate efforts to
defuse them.

The ministers criticized recent Iranian attacks targeting Jordan and
Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states, pledging “absolute
solidarity” in countering these security threats.

They stressed the need to halt escalations and fully implement the
ceasefire agreement between the US and Iran.

They also called for an immediate resumption of negotiations to
secure a comprehensive resolution that addresses all root causes of
regional tension and guarantees freedom of navigation in the Strait
of Hormuz.
