Air defenses intercepted three missiles launched from Iran, army says

Amman, July 20 (Petra) — Air defense systems intercepted and shot
down three missiles launched from Iranian territory overnight after
they entered Jordanian airspace and were heading toward the kingdom,
a military source at the General Command of the Jordan Armed
Forces-Arab Army said.

The source said the interception operation caused no casualties or
material damage. Royal Engineering Corps teams were deployed to the
sites where missile debris fell, securing the areas and handling the
remnants in accordance with established technical and security
procedures.

The source stressed that the armed forces continue to monitor the
kingdom’s airspace and maintain full operational readiness, adding
that they will respond decisively to any threat to Jordan’s security,
sovereignty or the safety of its citizens in line with the military’s
rules of engagement.

The source also urged the public to rely on official sources for
information and to refrain from circulating rumours or unverified
reports.
