Cairo, July 21 (Petra) – Egypt slammed the attack on the Kuwaiti oil
tanker, Kaifan, while navigating the Strait of Hormuz.
The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs characterized the assault,
which injured several crew members, as a “dangerous escalation and a
flagrant violation of international law and maritime navigation
rules”, noting that it threatens the security and stability of the
Gulf region and international sea lanes.
Egypt pledged its solidarity with Kuwait and expressed support for
“all measures” taken by the Gulf nation to protect its security,
sovereignty, and interests.
Cairo rejected any attacks targeting Arab nations or disrupting
global trade routes.
Calling for an immediate halt to escalating actions, Egypt urged all
parties to adhere to international law and the UN Charter, stressing
for diplomacy and dialogue to defuse tensions and restore regional
stability.
