Amman, July 22 (Petra) – The Ministry of Education has concluded all
preparations to hold the General Secondary Education Certificate
Examination (Tawjihi) for the 11th-grade students for 2009 cohort.

The first session will begin tomorrow morning, Thursday, as
applicants will sit the Arabic language exam, and will continue
through July 30.

A total of 133,122 students will sit the exam, distributed across
1,319 testing halls within 590 centers in various education
directorates.

As part of preparations, twenty-three centers have been designated
for grading the Arabic and English language exam papers, distributed
nationwide.

The exams will be administered by over 22,000 qualified and trained
workers, including hall supervisors, assistants, invigilators, and
supervisory committee members, who were trained in implementing the
regulations governing the exam.

Exam halls were equipped with all necessary exam environment
requirements, such as lighting, ventilation, and drinking water, as
well as comfortable seats and directional signs.

To address any challenges, the ministry also launched main and branch
operations rooms at the central and field levels to streamline direct
communication and immediate response to feedback from students and
parents.

In a statement, the ministry’s spokesperson, Mahmoud Hyasat,
underscored the ministry’s commitment to providing a “suitable” exam
environment for students with disabilities, tailored to the specific
needs of each disability.

Additionally, he said a dedicated exam hall is provided for students
currently receiving treatment at the King Hussein Cancer Center and 8
halls in correctional and rehabilitation centers and juvenile
detention facilities.
