Amman, July 22 (Petra) — The head of the Zarqa Municipality
Committee, Khaled Al-Khashman, said on Wednesday that the
municipality will not close any shops or commercial establishments
before the Aug. 15 deadline set for businesses to regularize their
licensing status.

Al-Khashman urged business owners and traders to take advantage of
the grace period by promptly visiting the municipality’s Professional
Licenses Department to complete the procedures required to bring
their businesses into legal compliance.

He said the decision to grant the extension reflects the
municipality’s support for the commercial sector and is intended to
enable business owners to complete licensing requirements without
disrupting their operations.

The grace period applies to commercial establishments whose licenses
expired during 2025 and 2026, allowing them to continue operating
within a regulated legal framework, he added.

Al-Khashman called on owners of shops and commercial establishments
to review their business licenses, verify the accuracy of the
information they contain, and ensure that the registered details
correspond to their actual commercial activities. He urged them to
correct any errors or complete any outstanding licensing procedures
with the Professional Licenses Department before the deadline
expires.

He said the process of regularizing business licenses is not intended
to place additional burdens on traders or disrupt their operations,
but rather to promote a more organized and stable business
environment, protect the rights of business owners and strengthen
compliance with applicable laws, regulations and instructions,
thereby ensuring fair competition and serving the public interest.
