Amman, July 25 (Petra) –Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates
condemned the Israeli escalating settler terrorism against
Palestinians in the occupied West Bank.

The ministry cited the most recent attacks that targeted several
villages, during which Israeli settlers burnt homes, agricultural
lands, and vehicles, uprooted numerous trees, and assaulted
Palestinians.

In a statement Saturday, the ministry’s official spokesperson, Fouad
Majali, affirmed the Kingdom’s “absolute” rejection of these
reprehensible attacks perpetrated by Israeli settlers.

He stated these attacks reflect the extremist policies of the
Israeli government and its illegal measures in the occupied West
Bank, which fuel extremism and violence against the Palestinian
people and undermine chances of achieving peace based on the
two-state solution.

Majali also held Israel, the occupying power, accountable for these
attacks.

As for the required action to stop this escalation, Majali urged the
international community to assume its legal and moral
responsibilities, and compel Israel, the occupying power, to stop
settler attacks, hold perpetrators of crimes accountable and ensure
justice.

In this context, he called for fulfilling the legitimate rights of
the Palestinian people to establish their independent and sovereign
state on the June 4, 1967 lines with East Jerusalem as its capital,
as the sole way to achieve a just and comprehensive peace that
guarantees security and stability in the region.
