Jerash, July 25 (Petra) — The Jerash Festival for Culture and Arts
has designated several free parking areas for visitors attending the
festival’s 40th edition as part of a traffic management plan aimed at
improving access to event venues, easing congestion and ensuring
smoother traffic flow throughout the festival.
Festival organizers said the approved parking locations include the
Jerash New Bus Terminal, the former Electricity Company parking area,
the Handicrafts Market parking lot, the parking area at the Amman
Gate amusement park, a parking area behind the former municipal
building, and Jerash University, providing coverage for the city’s
main access points and festival venues.
The festival administration said the free parking facilities have
been prepared to accommodate visitors’ vehicles and will be served by
complimentary high-frequency shuttle buses operating at regular
intervals to the festival entrances, allowing visitors easy access to
the gates, theaters, and public squares hosting performances.
The shuttle buses will begin operating before the start of festival
events and continue transporting visitors throughout the period
leading up to performances. They will also be available after events
conclude to return visitors to the designated parking areas,
providing a more convenient and seamless experience.
The festival administration added that directional signs have been
installed on roads leading to the ancient city of Jerash to guide
visitors to the designated parking areas, helping improve traffic
flow from the city’s entrances to the festival venues.
Organizers encouraged visitors to take advantage of the free services
and follow the instructions of festival staff to facilitate entry and
exit while maintaining the high organizational standards for which
the Jerash Festival is known as one of the region’s leading cultural
and arts festivals.
