Health Minister Confirms Stability of Medicine Supply in Sudan

Khartoum, 26 July 2026 (SUNA) – Federal Health Minister Professor Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim confirmed the stability of medicine supplies in Sudan, the availability of medicines, and the return of a number of pharmaceutical companies and factories to operation. Speaking on Sunday at the Cultural Centre in Omdurman during the 61st briefing conference organized by the Sudan News Agency (SUNA) to discuss the current health situation and the outcomes of his visit to the United States, the minister said that the challenges related to the cost of medicines and treatment could be addressed through the health insurance card system. Dr. Haitham Ibrahim said that the Ministry has reactivated the Health Services Coordination Council and established it across all institutions providing health services. He added that the advisory health councils have also been reconstituted. The minister affirmed that health services have returned to 75 percent of their previous capacity, that services are progressing steadily, and that Sudan possesses qualified and well-trained medical personnel.BH/BH
