Princess Basma Teaching Hospital Opens Specialized Stroke Unit

Irbid, July 28 (Petra) — Princess Basma Teaching Hospital in Irbid
on Tuesday inaugurated a specialized Stroke Unit within its Emergency
Department, enhancing the hospital’s capacity to provide rapid
diagnosis and treatment for stroke patients and improve clinical
outcomes.

Hospital Director Dr. Walid Al-Halabi told the Jordan News Agency
(Petra) that the unit has been equipped with advanced medical
equipment and staffed by qualified physicians and nursing personnel
trained to manage stroke cases in accordance with the latest
internationally recognized treatment protocols.

He said the new unit will facilitate prompt diagnosis and timely
medical intervention, improving patients’ chances of recovery while
raising the quality of healthcare services provided.

Al-Halabi noted that the project forms part of the Ministry of
Health’s strategy to expand specialized healthcare services and
strengthen the performance of emergency departments in government
hospitals.

The initiative is aimed at enhancing the quality of healthcare
services, keeping pace with best medical practices and ensuring
improved medical care for citizens across the Kingdom.
