Amman, July 28 (Petra) — His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein
bin Abdullah II, the Regent, met on Tuesday with France Minister
Delegate for the Armed Forces and Veterans Alice Rufo, according to a
royal court statement.
The meeting, held at Al Husseiniya Palace, covered current
developments in the region, as well as ways of strengthening defence
cooperation between Jordan and France.
The Crown Prince underscored the need to reach comprehensive regional
calm.
His Royal Highness warned of the gravity of developments in the West
Bank, noting the importance of stepping up international efforts to
halt the ongoing escalation there.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, Chairman of
the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Yousef Huneiti, Director of the
Office of the Crown Prince Zaid Baqain, and France Ambassador to
Jordan Franck Gellet attended the meeting.
