UN rights office warns of escalating Israeli settler violence in occupied West Bank

Amman, July 29 (Petra) — The Office of the United Nations High
Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) on Wednesday warned of an
escalation in violence by Israeli settlers in the occupied West Bank.

According to Reuters, the office called for international measures to
address the killing of Palestinians and the expansion of Israeli
settlements, saying settlement construction has reached its highest
level on record.

UN figures show that 18 Palestinians have been killed in incidents
linked to settler attacks since the beginning of this year, compared
with 17 such deaths recorded during the whole of 2025.

The Palestinian Authority, meanwhile, says that at least 20
Palestinians have been killed by Israeli settlers since the start of
the year.
