Ramallah, July 30 (Petra)– The Israeli occupation army on Thursday
extended military orders imposing the closure of the Jenin, Tulkarm,
and Nur Shams refugee camps in the northern occupied West Bank until
September 30.

The Popular Committee for Services in Jenin Camp said the new orders
were issued one day before the previous closure orders were due to
expire on July 31.

According to the committee, the renewed military orders prohibit
anyone from entering, remaining in, or leaving the designated closed
areas without a special permit issued by the Israeli army. The
restrictions do not apply to Israeli military and police personnel.

Israeli forces have maintained military operations in Jenin refugee
camp since January 2025 before expanding them to include the Tulkarm
and Nur Shams camps. The operations have involved repeated raids,
home demolitions, and extensive destruction of infrastructure,
forcing thousands of Palestinians to flee their homes.

The extension comes as residents continue to be barred from returning
to the camps while demolition operations persist, prompting
Palestinian warnings of a worsening humanitarian situation.

Israeli military operations and settler attacks across the occupied
West Bank have intensified since the outbreak of the war on Gaza in
October 2023. According to official Palestinian figures, more than
1,182 Palestinians have been killed, nearly 13,000 injured, and
around 24,000 arrested during the period.

Separately, Israeli forces continued large-scale raids and arrest
campaigns across several West Bank governorates on Thursday,
detaining dozens of Palestinians and former prisoners.

The Palestinian Prisoner’s Society said Israeli troops raided
multiple areas in the governorates of Nablus, Qalqilya, Tulkarm,
Hebron, and Bethlehem, searching dozens of homes and arresting 19
Palestinians who were transferred to military interrogation centers.

Military operations were concentrated in the town of Tal, southwest
of Nablus, where dozens of young Palestinians were subjected to field
interrogations and detained for hours inside homes after residents
confronted recent settler attacks in the area.

At the same time, Israeli forces continued implementing measures to
expand settlement infrastructure by constructing new settlement roads
and seizing agricultural land, while tightening closures around
several refugee camps and towns in the northern occupied West Bank,
particularly Jenin, Tulkarm, and Nur Shams.
