Salt, July 30 (Petra)– The Balqa Governorate Council has allocated
JD100,000 from its 2026 budget to launch the first phase of the Zaha
Cultural Center project in the Zay area, as part of its
development-driven approach and its vision of investing in people as
the cornerstone of sustainable development.

The project follows the approval of the Ministry of Local
Administration to proceed with the tendering process for the first
construction phase after the required funding was earmarked in the
council’s 2026 budget. The move underscores the council’s commitment
to translating development plans into tangible projects that address
community needs and improve the quality of life across the
governorate.

The Zaha Cultural Center is expected to become a significant addition
to Balqa’s cultural and development landscape, providing children and
young people with an integrated educational and creative environment.
The center will offer cultural, educational, and interactive programs
designed to develop skills, nurture talents, and promote creativity,
innovation, and a sense of belonging.

The first phase of the project includes the construction of a
five-a-side multi-purpose sports field, a guard room, boundary walls,
gates, and fencing, along with other preparatory works. These
facilities will pave the way for subsequent phases aimed at
establishing a fully integrated cultural center that will serve as a
hub for learning, creativity, and community engagement, reflecting
the Balqa Governorate Council’s commitment to strengthening cultural
infrastructure and supporting sustainable community development.
