Zarqa’s exports exceed JD20.9m last July: ZCC

Zarqa, August 1 (Petra) – The value of Zarqa’s exports (re-exports)
reached approximately JD20.96 million in July of this year, according
to statistics from 397 certificates of origin issued by the Zarqa
Chamber of Commerce (ZCC) and its office in the Zarqa Free Zone.

In a statement to “Petra” on Saturday, ZCC Head, Hussain Shraim, said
the city’s exports diversified last month to cover numerous economic
sectors.

He noted that cars and their spare parts accounted for the largest
share of exports, followed by building materials and sanitary ware,
pharmaceuticals and medical supplies, foodstuffs, clothing and
jewelry, as well as electrical and electronic appliances, home and
office furniture, and stationery.

On their expansion, Shraim said these exports reflect the continued
commercial activity in Zarqa and the roleof various commercial
sectors in supporting economic growth and strengthening the city’s
position as a “vital” commercial hub connected to local and
international markets.
