Balqa, Aug. 2 (Petra) – The National Agricultural Research Center
(NARC) organized a workshop titled “Brainstorming to Develop Grain
Value Chains in Jordan” at the Ramtha Agricultural Research Center,
as part of the SEEDS project activities under the EU-funded PRIMA
program.

The workshop brought together representatives from government
institutions, the private sector, relevant organizations and
associations, in addition to researchers and farmers, to discuss ways
to support the sustainability and competitiveness of grain value
chains through research and innovation.

The workshop used a participatory brainstorming approach to review
the current situation of grain value chains in Jordan, identify key
challenges and opportunities, and develop proposals based on field
experience and scientific knowledge. The discussions focused on
improving value chain efficiency, increasing added value and
supporting the competitiveness of the grain sector.

Participants discussed challenges and opportunities related to grain
value chains and presented development proposals and research
priorities aimed at supporting value chain development, enhancing the
competitiveness of local production and strengthening food security.

The workshop is part of SEEDS project activities aimed at developing
more sustainable and resilient agricultural value chains by enhancing
cooperation between research institutions and the public and private
sectors and applying research and innovation outcomes to support
agricultural development.

NARC, as the national implementing partner of the SEEDS project in
Jordan, continues to implement project activities in cooperation with
local and international partners. These efforts focus on developing
agricultural value chains, supporting evidence-based policies and
promoting innovation to contribute to sustainable agricultural
development in line with the objectives of the PRIMA program.
