Amman, Aug. 4 (Petra) — The influence of the hot air mass affecting
the Kingdom is expected to weaken from Wednesday before ending on
Thursday, allowing temperatures to return to seasonal levels across
most regions, according to the Jordan Meteorological Department.

Hot weather will continue on Tuesday, with temperatures remaining
well above average for early August across much of the country. Very
hot conditions are forecast in the Badia, the Jordan Valley, the Dead
Sea and Aqaba, while moderate northwesterly winds are expected to
become active during the afternoon, particularly in desert areas.

The Meteorological Department warned of reduced visibility due to
blowing dust in the Badia and urged the public to avoid prolonged
exposure to direct sunlight during peak hours. It also advised
against lighting fires in forests and open areas and warned against
leaving children and older adults inside parked vehicles.

A gradual easing of the hot air mass is forecast on Wednesday,
bringing a slight drop in temperatures. Relatively hot conditions are
expected across most regions, while the Badia and the low-lying
areas, including the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba, will
continue to experience hot to very hot weather. Moderate
northwesterly winds are forecast to become active at times.

A further decline in temperatures is expected on Thursday as the hot
air mass retreats completely. Readings are forecast to return to
their seasonal averages, with typical summer conditions prevailing
across most regions. Hot weather, however, is expected to persist in
the Badia, the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba, while low
clouds are forecast to develop intermittently under moderate
northwesterly winds.

Weather conditions are expected to remain stable on Friday, with
seasonally warm conditions continuing across most parts of the
country. Hot weather will persist in the Badia and the low-lying
regions, including the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba,
accompanied by occasional low cloud cover.

Tuesday’s temperatures are forecast to reach 37 degrees Celsius in
East Amman and 35 C in West Amman. Highs are expected to reach 32 C
in the northern highlands and 31 C in the Sharah highlands, while the
plains are forecast to record 36 C.

The highest temperatures will remain concentrated in the country’s
desert and low-elevation regions, with forecasts pointing to 41 C in
the Badia, 42 C in the northern Jordan Valley, at the Dead Sea and in
Aqaba, and 43 C in the southern Jordan Valley.
