IEC Opens Accreditation for Media Covering 2026 Industrial Chamber Elections

Amman, Aug. 9 (Petra) — The Independent Election Commission (IEC)
has opened accreditation for journalists and media personnel wishing
to cover the 2026 elections for the boards of directors of the
chambers of industry and the elections of representatives of
industrial sectors.

The accreditation process is governed by the 2023 executive
instructions regulating the accreditation of journalists, media
professionals, photographers, technicians and other personnel working
for local and international print, audiovisual and broadcast media
organizations to cover the electoral process.

Applications will be accepted from Sunday, Aug. 9, 2026, through the
end of working hours on Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2026. The IEC said no
applications would be accepted after the deadline.

In a statement issued Sunday, the commission called on eligible
journalists, media professionals, photographers, technicians and
other media personnel wishing to cover the elections to visit the IEC
website, review the relevant executive instructions and complete the
approved accreditation forms.

The IEC said it is committed to working with media organizations and
taking the necessary measures to enable journalists to cover the
different stages of the electoral process in accordance with
Jordanian legislation and international best practices.
