Housing Program for Low-Income Families Launched

Amman, Aug 31 (Petra) — The Housing and Urban Development
Corporation (HUDC) on Monday launched a housing finance support
program for low-income Jordanian families, with applications opening
Tuesday for one month.

The program offers financing of up to JD50,000 under a financial
leasing system, with repayment periods of up to 20 years, for the
purchase, construction, expansion, or completion of housing units
located within designated planning areas.

Eligible families will receive a refundable government contribution
toward the initial payment ranging from JD8,000 to JD15,000,
depending on household income and the value of financing, HUDC
Director General Jumana Atiyat told Petra.

The program was approved by the Cabinet as part of HUDC initiatives
under the 2026-2029 second executive program of the Economic
Modernization Vision.

Atiyat said the program aims to support around 1,000 families over
four years, including 250 beneficiaries this year. Monthly
installments may not exceed 40 percent of total household income.

The program is open to public- and private-sector employees and
holders of professional licenses who meet the income and eligibility
requirements.

Applicants must be Jordanian, married or supporting a family, and
neither they nor their spouse or minor children may hold another
nationality.
