Amman, September 2 (Petra) – The official spokesperson for the
Jordanian Armed Forces – Arab Army said that the Hashemite Kingdom of
Jordan was targeted by a missile attack originating from Iranian
territory in recent hours.
The spokesperson said Jordanian air defense systems detected and
intercepted 13 ballistic missiles that entered the Kingdom’s
airspace. Of these, 10 were successfully intercepted and destroyed,
while three landed in remote areas away from populated centers.
The attack was handled in accordance with established operational
procedures, the spokesperson said, adding that no injuries or
fatalities were reported.
Specialised teams have begun securing the impact sites and taking the
necessary measures to ensure the safety of citizens.
The Armed Forces urged citizens not to approach, touch, or move any
unidentified objects or debris and to immediately report any such
items to the relevant authorities.
The Armed Forces also called on citizens to refrain from circulating
unverified information and to rely on statements issued through
official sources.
The Jordanian Armed Forces – Arab Army affirmed that its units and
formations continue to carry out their duties around the clock, while
surveillance and air defence systems remain fully prepared to respond
to any threat and safeguard the Kingdom’s security, the safety of its
citizens and the sovereignty of its airspace.
The Armed Forces said they continue to monitor and assess the
situation and will announce any developments requiring public
attention through official channels.
