Amman, Sept. 2 (Petra) — The U-20 national football team will take
on hosts Bahrain at 8:30 p.m. Thursday in the 2027 AFC U-20 Asian Cup
qualifiers.
The match is part of Group D, which also features Afghanistan and
Tajikistan, with the qualifying matches being held in Bahrain.
Jordan will wrap up their qualifying campaign against Tajikistan at 5
p.m. Sunday as they seek to secure a place in the continental finals.
A total of 32 teams are competing in the qualifiers, divided into
eight groups of four. The winners of each group, along with the seven
best runners-up, will advance to the finals.
Under the competition format, the team finishing bottom of each group
will move to the development stage in the next edition of the
tournament.
China will host the AFC U-20 Asian Cup finals for the second
consecutive edition, with the tournament scheduled to take place in
March 2027.
