Amman, Sept 6 (Petra) — Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of
Foreign and Expatriate Affairs Ayman Safadi and UK Secretary of State
for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs Ed Miliband
affirmed on Sunday their commitment to strengthening the partnership
between Jordan and the United Kingdom and deepening coordination to
bolster regional security and stability.

In a phone call, Safadi and Miliband explored avenues to expand
bilateral cooperation across various sectors.

The two ministers reviewed regional developments, underscoring their
support for efforts aimed at ending dangerous escalations across the
Middle East. They agreed to sustain coordination to stabilize Gaza
and ensure the continuous, adequate delivery of humanitarian aid to
the enclave.

Discussions also addressed the deteriorating situation in the
occupied West Bank. Safadi warned against ongoing illegal Israeli
escalation, which he stressed risks igniting broader conflict in the
region.

Safadi praised the UK’s steadfast support for the two-state solution
as the path toward achieving a just and comprehensive peace that
guarantees security for all parties.

He also congratulated Miliband on assuming his role as Foreign
Secretary, expressing his intent to work together to expand bilateral
cooperation and foster regional stability.
