Amman, Sept. 7 (Petra) — Lebanese Minister of Education and Higher
Education Rima Karami visited Jordan’s National Center for Curriculum
Development and Assessment Monday to learn about its work in
developing curricula and school textbooks.

During the visit, Karami met with Higher Council Chairman Mohi Al-Din
Touq and Center Director Mohammad Kananeh. The meeting focused on
strengthening educational cooperation and sharing experience between
Jordanian and Lebanese institutions.

The discussions covered cooperation in curriculum and textbook
development, as well as the exchange of expertise and practices
between educational institutions in the two countries, with a focus
on improving education quality and keeping pace with changes in the
sector.

Touq briefed Karami on the center’s approach to curriculum
development under approved national frameworks and its work in
developing and reviewing school textbooks. He highlighted the
importance of Arab cooperation and sharing expertise among
institutions working in curriculum development in support of students
and the wider education process.

Kananeh, along with the heads of the center’s units, also presented
the center’s work and achievements, outlining the responsibilities of
each unit and its plans for the next phase. They discussed ways to
strengthen coordination between the center and the Ministry of
Education and Human Resources Development in curriculum development,
assessment and the exchange of expertise.

Karami welcomed the Jordanian experience in curriculum development,
noting the progress Jordan has made in the field. She stressed the
value of drawing on the center’s experience and further exchanging
expertise between Jordan and Lebanon to advance education and address
common challenges.

The meeting also covered other areas of mutual interest and the
possibility of expanding cooperation between the center and its
counterparts in Lebanon, with the aim of sharing knowledge and
experience and further developing education in both countries.
