Amman, Sept. 7 (Petra) – Lower House Speaker Mazen Qadi and Chairman
of the Omani Shura Council Khalid Mawali canvassed on Monday,
expanding parliamentary cooperation and coordinating stances on
regional issues.

Qadi and Mawali pointed to the historical strength of Jordanian-Omani
relations, calling for closer ties between both legislative bodies
through exchanged visits and shared legislative expertise.

Qadi lauded the diplomacy of both leaderships, emphasizing dialogue
and non-alignment to foster regional stability.

On regional affairs, Qadi thanked Oman’s support for the Palestinian
cause, the two-state solution, and the Hashemite Custodianship over
Jerusalem’s holy sites.

He also rejected Iranian strikes targeting Jordan and Gulf
Cooperation Council (GCC) nations, stressing that political solutions
and diplomacy pave the path for regional security.

Mawali voiced Oman’s commitment to supporting the Palestinian
people’s right to an independent state and commended Jordan’s stance
on Jerusalem. He echoed the need for regional dialogue, noting that
both nations share a long-standing history of mutual support.

Economically, the two sides discussed boosting trade and joint
investments in energy, tourism, agriculture, and technology, as well
as expanding academic exchange and student transfers between
universities.
