Jordan, Oman review parliamentary ties, regional stability

Amman, Sept. 7 (Petra) – Prime Minister Jafar Hassan and Chairman of
Oman’s Shura Council Khalid Mawali explored on Monday expanding
bilateral cooperation and bolstering parliamentary ties.

During the meeting at the Prime Ministry, the officials pointed to
the historical relations between Jordan and Oman, voicing their
commitment to boosting legislative and oversight cooperation.

They agreed to spur joint parliamentary committees to coordinate
positions across regional and international parliamentary forums.

The two men also called for stimulating the Jordanian-Omani Higher
Committee and encouraging private-sector investment in major
infrastructure projects in Amman and Muscat.

On regional affairs, the Prime Minister and the Omani Shura Council
Head stressed the need to focus diplomatic efforts at de-escalating
regional tensions and maintaining regional security. They stated
their joint support for the steadfastness of the Palestinian people
on their land as the basis to resolving the Palestinian cause.
