Israeli warplanes and artillery hit southern Lebanon towns in fresh escalation

Amman, Sept. 8 (Petra) — Israeli warplanes renewed airstrikes on the
town of Nabatieh al-Fawqa in southern Lebanon on Tuesday evening,
coinciding with heavy artillery shelling that targeted the town
alongside Dawkhat Kfar Remman in the Nabatieh district and
Al-Mansouri in the Tyre district.

A security source said Israeli artillery shelling also targeted the
Salouqi and Hjoula valleys, while Israeli forces opened fire with
heavy machine guns toward woodland areas adjacent to the town of
Qabrikha. An Israeli tank additionally shelled residential homes on
the western outskirts of the town of Meiss al-Jabal.

The source added that Israeli forces conducted controlled detonations
in the town of Al-Mansouri, south of Tyre, and shelled the Ali
al-Taher hills using incendiary white phosphorus munitions.
