PM Directs Nationwide Rollout of Public Parks Across by 2027

AMMAN, Sept. 9 (Petra) – Prime Minister Jafar Hassan directed the
immediate initiation of procedures to construct a major public park
in Zarqa Governorate-modeled after the Al-Nishama Park in Marj
Al-Hamam-alongside new parks in Tafilah, Maan, Jerash, Ajloun, and
Madaba, patterned after the new Mafraq Park, with all projects slated
for completion throughout 2027.

The nationwide park expansion initiative builds upon the immense
public turnout witnessed at Al-Nishama Park in Marj Al-Hamam and the
newly developed Mafraq Park, as well as other recreational spaces
established by the government, such as the Dead Sea Corniche and
tourist beach.

The government will immediately allocate the necessary financial
resources, identify suitable plots of land, and ensure all facilities
are built to the highest engineering and environmental
specifications.

The upcoming parks will feature expansive green spaces, dedicated
picnic areas, family rest stops, and secure zones tailored for
children, youth, the elderly, and individuals with disabilities.
Plans also incorporate walking and cycling tracks, parking lots
accommodating hundreds of vehicles, and extensive forestry and
tree-planting campaigns.

Additionally, the recreational hubs will house multi-sport courts,
outdoor fitness equipment, large children’s playgrounds, essential
service facilities, and comprehensive public safety infrastructure,
including advanced surveillance camera networks to protect and
maintain the public spaces.
