Amman, Sept. 9 (Petra) — Border Guard units in the Northern Military
Zone arrested an individual attempting to illegally cross one of the
Kingdom’s border fronts Tuesday evening, the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab
Army (JAF) said.
The individual was detected while attempting to cross the border and
was apprehended in accordance with the rules of engagement.
The suspect was subsequently referred to the relevant authorities for
legal action.
The JAF said Border Guard units continue to carry out round-the-clock
operations to secure the Kingdom’s borders and counter infiltration
attempts and other illegal cross-border activities.
It added that border forces remain at a high level of readiness to
safeguard the Kingdom’s sovereignty, security and stability.
