Amman, Sept. 10 (Petra) — The Ministry of Digital Economy and
Entrepreneurship and Generations For Peace (GFP) signed a memorandum
of understanding to support and develop programs delivered through
the ministry’s Future Stations across Jordan’s governorates.

The agreement, signed in the presence of HRH Princess Aisha bint
Faisal, aims to strengthen digital and entrepreneurial skills among
youth and adolescents, while supporting innovation, citizenship, and
digital safety.

According to a ministry statement issued Thursday, the memorandum was
signed by Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Sami
Smeirat and GFP Chief Executive Officer Lama Hattab.

The partnership builds on existing cooperation between the ministry
and GFP and seeks to expand the role of Future Stations as centers
for digital training, innovation, and entrepreneurship.

It also provides a platform for youth participation in developing
policies and programs by enabling young people to help identify
priorities and challenges and submit recommendations intended to make
initiatives more responsive to their needs.

The cooperation includes preparing studies, research, and knowledge
papers related to youth, digital skills, and entrepreneurship, with
findings to be used in designing practical programs and activities
that can be implemented and scaled.

Smeirat noted that the memorandum would broaden partnerships
supporting youth programs through Future Stations and help draw on
specialized expertise to develop initiatives more closely aligned
with beneficiaries’ needs, the digital economy, and labor market
requirements.

He added that the ministry is focusing on measurable training
outcomes, with programs subject to monitoring and evaluation to
support the development and expansion of successful initiatives
across the governorates according to local needs and priorities.

Hattab highlighted the agreement’s focus on equipping youth with
digital skills relevant to labor market needs and strengthening their
participation in their communities.

Under the memorandum, programs and activities will be implemented
according to jointly approved work plans specifying target groups,
beneficiary numbers, locations, timelines, roles and
responsibilities, outputs, performance indicators, monitoring and
evaluation mechanisms, impact measurement, and sustainability
arrangements.

The agreement also covers initiatives aimed at promoting digital
inclusion and expanding opportunities for disadvantaged groups,
women, and persons with disabilities, subject to available resources
and applicable legislation.
