AMMAN, Sept. 12 (Petra) — The Jordanian national basketball team
turned in a gritty, two-way masterclass on Saturday, powering past
Qatar 76–65 in a hard-fought group-stage battle to keep their
momentum rolling.
The national squad orchestrated a balanced offensive and defensive
masterclass, dictating the tempo across crucial stretches to
comfortably secure an 11-point victory and cement their foothold in
the tournament standings.
The Falcons will immediately turn their focus to a massive Group B
regular-season finale, locking horns with powerhouse Iran tomorrow,
Sunday, tip-off scheduled for an early morning 04:00 Jordan time.
Entering the clash on the back of a statement win over Qatar, the
national team looks to punch its ticket to the knockout rounds. Group
B action features Jordan alongside Iran, Qatar, and Chinese Taipei,
with the top two teams from each group securing direct berths to the
quarterfinals, joined by the two best third-place finishers across
the three groups.
Jordan opened their group campaign against Chinese Taipei before
capturing Saturday’s vital win over Qatar, setting the stage for
