AMMAN, Sept. 12 (Petra) — Jordan is set to assume the presidency of
the 52nd session of the Arab Labor Conference, organized by the Arab
Labor Organization in Cairo from September 13 to 20, drawing
tripartite production representatives from twenty-one Arab nations.

Minister of Transport and Minister of Labor, Dr. Nidal Katamine, will
head the Jordanian delegation at the high-level summit, held under
the patronage of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. The
gathering brings together regional labor ministers, delegation heads,
employer and worker representatives, alongside delegates from various
Arab, regional, and international federations.

According to a Ministry of Labor statement released Saturday, the
conference will tackle pivotal agendas shaping the future of work and
regional development. Key focus areas include sustainable economic
growth, inclusive social development, the labor market impacts of
climate change, enhanced occupational health and safety protocols
against climate risks, and the expansion of startup enterprises amid
ongoing digital transformation to foster entrepreneurship and job
creation.

The delegates will also address workforce skill development aligned
with evolving labor market demands, strategies to boost employment,
and initiatives to combat unemployment, collectively aiming to forge
cohesive Arab labor policies capable of weathering economic,
technological, and social shifts.
